Job Centre
Well today I went to the job centre, I still have to go until I start my job next month it's such a depressing place and most of the clients seem so useless! My appointment was 11:10, I arrived at 11am, I spoke to the greeter told her who I was to see and then stood looking at the job screens whilst I was waited, whilst I was there 3 other people arrived, not one had there appointment card with them and 2 were late, one was supposed to be there at 10: the other at 10:45, how do they expect to go to work if they can't even remember the basics. To sign on you need to attend your appointment, brining with you your job search record and appointment card, the appointment is only once a fortnight is this really so hard to remember?!
Thankfully my appointment was brief my advisor was just really happy that I'd got a job so I just had to sign my attendance record and be given the number to call 5 days before I start work to end my claim.
I've also been baking again but as I enjoy that so much I've started a separate blog for it!

I have a job :-D
Yay I've been offered the job I was interviewed for on Thursday, it's not something I've ever fancied doing but it's a job, it'll be so nice to have a salary again! It doesn't start for 2 weeks but yay! In 2 weeks I'll be back to being employed and I'm so so so so so happy about that!!!!
I had the root filling done at the dentists this morning the anesthetic stung and my mouth stayed numb for 4 hours I looked like I'd had a stroke for the 1st two! But the bulk of it's done now and it has a temporary filling I have to go back next week for the final filling. I'm so glad we have the NHS the 3 appointments - 1st one consultation and xray, today drilling, xray and root filling and next week permanent filling has cost £47 something, plus £7.40 for the antibiotics last week, it would have cost me a fortune if I had a private dentist.
The weathers gorgeous again and we have my parents dog as they're away so we took her for a nice long walk this afternoon, I can't wait to eat later, all I've had is some carrot and coriander soup and some rice pudding. The feelings pretty much back in my mouth now, a bit of my lip feels numb but I can feel my teeth and the filling feels like a piece of food stuck between my teeth it's very annoying!

Sunny Sunday
Yet another lovely sunny day so I've been sat out in the garden again and then back on the wii fit, I want to loose half a stone before Easter. I'm absolutely dreading the dentists tomorrow I don't want my tooth drilling through to the root :-(

More Applications
I wasn't very well yesterday I had a stupid migraine but I took my new Sumatriptan tablets that the doctor prescribed a couple of weeks ago, they worked but it took about 4 hours :-(
Today is a lovely sunny day so I sat in the garden for an hour with the rabbit and have then sent off applications for another office administrator job and a PA job, I really hope I get a job before the end of the month!

Another Interview
Well I had my telephone interview this morning and am going for another real interview tomorrow, it's like Deja vu, the guy from the agency is really irritating, he's so patronising you'd think people were completely clueless, he actually sent me this in an e-mail:
I don't even know where I would buy musical underwear let alone what makes him think people might wear it to an interview. Other than that today I have re-watched the 1st 2 series of Parks and Recreation and made a yummy Mediterranean veg pasta bake for dinner, fingers crossed for the interview tomorrow although it's depressing that I'm now so desperate that cold-calling which I did once for 3 days and hated is now something I'm hoping for!

Fresh Air
Today has been a lovely sunny day so we took my parents dog out for a walk, it was really nice we tired her out chasing sticks and had a nice afternoon in the fresh air. An agency called me, the comany I interviewed for on Wednesday that decided I wasn't suitable for the position have another vacancy so I have to ring them at 9am tomorrow. It's another cold calling sales job and less money but desperate times call for desperate measures, I'm just dreading calling as it's the man who kept sighing like it was a ig disappointment to have to speak to me :-(
Dentist of Doom
I went to the dentist today and it turns out I have an abscess :-( I'm on antibiotics and then next Monday I have to go and have the tooth drilled through to the roots to have the abscess removed and the week after I have to go back to have a root filling, I'm not looking forward to it :-(.
This afternoon I've shortened my CV and applied for an Office Administrator job so I'm hoping I might have more luck this week!

Well still no job
Still no job and I now have awful toothache but this week has felt a bit more productive. I've applied for another 5 jobs I even had an interview for one on Thursday which was good practice but it was for a cold calling sales job and I've never done that before, but it was a interview so at least I've had a practice one. I also had my 2nd job centre appointment which was actually surprisingly helpful, I need to shorten my CV but am apparently very competent at applications and shouldn't get disheartened as my experience will sometimes make me over qualified. I also might be able to go on training courses for computer systems I haven't used before like Sage so that's good to know.

Weekend!!
Well I still keep checking the energy monitor!
Does anyone have any advise on how to save energy? I already unplug everything when not in use including extension leads and chargers, turn off lights when I'm not in the room, use energy efficient bulbs, only put as much water in the kettle as I need, have my washing machine set to 30oC and don't leave anything on standby, is there anything else I can do?
The job hunt has still not been very sucessful there havn't really been any more jobs advertised in the last 2 days, I'm trying very hard to keep my hopes up and not get too desparing! I will continue to apply for "good" jobs - manager, office manager, assistant manager etc until the 31st then from the 1st April I'll hav to give in and start applying for the minimum wage jobs as I'm getting desperate. I don't understand how minimum wage was calculated, if I worked 40 hours a week on £6.08 an hour by the time I've paid tax, transport and bills I'll be left with about £150 a month for food and everything else how is that livable?!
Well my weekend has been very exciting!!! Yesterday I got up, had a bowl of cereal, put a wash load in the machine, put the dry clothes away, put the clothes out of the machine on the airer, looked for jobs, spoke to my friend, spoke to my mum, watched take me out - I was so happy Stephanie and Charlotte got dates! Discover take me out the gossip on itv2 - how did I not know about this before?! Watched Geordie Shore and went to bed! This morning my fiances friend brought him home as he'd stayed there last night, he stayed for bacon butties and a cup of tea, I washed the dishes, put another load of laundry in the machine and then back to the internet no idea why nobody lists jobs on Sundays!
Ah well I'm going to walk to my parents and pick up the dog, as the weathers nice it'll do me good to get out of the house and at least taking the dog for a walk is free!

Addicted to the energy saving monitor!
So far I have been unemployed for 22 days and it would seem I'm not very good at it so I'm starting this blog.
Technically I've been unemployed for 78 days but as this includes Christmas and the fact I went travelling for 7 weeks I'm not counting that.
It turns out being unemployed is actually really really really horrible, I always thought it would be OK but the travelling wiped out my money so it's literally just staying home all day and applying for jobs.
Today I applied for 4 jobs, did 2 surveys on valuedopinions, entered lots of competitions on myoffers and found a weird site called webanswers where people post the most stupid questions and you can answer them. The questions are ridiculous mainly people asking if they're pregnant or trying to guess who the father of they're child is.
The worst thing though is I have developed an unhealthy addiction to my energy saving monitor, I know that my computer cost £0.04 an hour to run but my shower costs £1.85. It's not healthy to be so obsessed that you'e sat in the dark with just the fridge plugged in turning things on one by one to see how much energy they use!
I've also painted my kitchen, living room, stairs, landing and spare bedroom and this week will be decorating the bathroom, I bought paints when hoping to be unemployed for 1 week. If I don't have a job by next weekend I'm going volunteering in a charity shop to keep me sane!
